The Office of the City Clerk is the public’s link to government records, licensing, and permits, voting information and in Sea Isle, Vital Records such as marriage, birth and death records. As the Secretary to the Governing Body, the Office of the City Clerk also maintains information regarding City Council and has a variety of resources for citizens.
 
The Office of the Municipal Clerk and Registrar of Vital Statistics is responsible for storing and maintaining government records. The definition of a government record is “any document that has been made, maintained or kept on file in the course of official business by a public agency or an official agency or that has been received in the course of official business by a public agency or an officer of that public agency.”

Ø      Dog Licenses - must bring proof of rabies valid for at least 10 months at the time of licensing

The Office of the Registrar of Vital Statistics:
 
All marriages, deaths and births that occurred in the City of Sea Isle City are recorded in the Office of the Registrar. A Certified Copy of a Vital Record can only be issued to individuals who have a direct link to the individual(s) named on the vital record. Proof of Identity is required ~ in the form of a Photo ID. Each certified copy is $5.00.

If you are getting married or entering into a civil union in Sea Isle City, you need to know the following information:
 
Ø      If either applicant lives in Sea Isle, you can apply here and the license is valid anywhere in the State – proof of residency must be provided
Ø      If both applicants live out of the State and the application is made in Sea Isle, the license is only valid in Sea Isle City – proof of residency must be provided
  Ø      If either applicant was previously married, you must provide a copy of a divorce decree or death certificate
  Ø      If either applicant was previously in a civil union, you must provide a copy of the disolution of the civil union, unless the marriage is for the same couple
Ø      You must apply in person with a witness that knows both applicants, the witness must be at least 18 years old
Ø      You must both provide identification in the form of a birth certificate or passport
Ø      You must provide social security numbers
Ø      You must apply at least 72 hours before the license can be issued
Ø      You may apply up to 6 months prior to the wedding/civil union
Ø      There is a $28.00 licensing fee
